Today’s Startup: AboutOurWork

Today’s internet startup AboutOurWork is a social business network dedicated to helping your small business grow. The network is designed and developed by a group of entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping other companies establish meaningful business-to-business connections.

AboutOurWork gives the micro and small business community the power to create a presence online then explore, identify, connect and communicate with other businesses in a way that’s never been done before.

The makers struggled with how to fit their business life into the existing social networking landscape. Facebook and Twitter work well for B2C companies looking to build relationships with customers, but not necessarily for business-to-business (B2B) relationships. And LinkedIn focuses on personal profiles, functioning more as a referral network for job seekers. So as a entrepreneur how should you promote, track, and build relationships with other businesses? With the lack of a quality business-to-business network they decided to build our own.

AboutOurWork is a network designed exclusively for small to medium-sized businesses. It makes it easy for your company to build a professional online profile page, and establish connections as you build your business relationships. The profile pages make it easy for your company to get found online. And the graphs and charts make managing your business connections a visually stunning experience.

    Today’s Startup: Nearmeeting

Today’s internet startup Nearmeeting is the first private platform to make business relationships based on trust. How many times have we wanted to contact someone who makes decisions in a company but we have not been able to do so? How much money have we spent on marketing and business actions to try and achieve this objective? Nearmeeting is born to make companies more competitive by promoting business relationships and as a consequence, it improves economic activity.

Nearmeeting was born with the idea of being a very useful tool to increase sales, introduce a product in the market, look for alliances, present business proposals, search for financing, provide internationalization and introduce all kinds of products and services to those who make decisions on buying or hiring in companies.

Nearmeeting is a tool based on three different profiles: the ‘user’ aspires to do business and the ‘linker’ is their ambassador because he or she is completely trusted by the ‘target’, who is a decision maker in a company.

Everyone wins in Nearmeeting. the ‘target’, for receiving a good offer or business proposal; the ‘user’, because he or she will access key contacts to achieve their business objectives, saving you a huge cost in time and money; and the ‘linker’, because he or she receives commission every time a meeting is arranged with one of their contacts.

Nearmeeting was founded in January 2011 by the CSA Innovation Group. The Alpha version was available on 7th May 2011. The first operating was released in June 2011.

Cool, the Rymble is an Internet connected object that brings your Social Network to the real world. Initially just supporting Facebook, with Twitter to follow, the device connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi. Rymble will change shape, light up in different colours and make noises based of social activity on the Facebook account or page that it’s hooked up to.

The physical appearance of the device can be altered via changeable ‘skins’, and Symplio, the Spanish startup behind it, hopes to cultivate a community of designers creating new looks for Rymble. It hopes to get brands on board with their own skins, too.

    Today’s Startup: Splize

Today’s internet startup Splize is a new social network that intelligently brings people and businesses together based on real offers and needs. Knowing your needs and offers, it will automatically suggest beneficial connections for you by matching your offers and needs with others, even when you are offline.

If you have something to offer or if there’s something you need, Splize can help you quickly match your offers with someone else’s needs and, conversely, your needs with someone else’s offers.

Further, Splize can build your profile, whether you’re a salesman, businessman, student, consumer, etc. By developing your profile, you can establish connections with other people. For instance, if you’re a supplier, you can connect not only with your consumers but with other suppliers as well! One of the advantages of Splize is that you receive updates on your connections whenever they have new offers or needs, which may give rise to a promising business collaboration.

Splize can help you in many ways to make your market a success. It simply depends on what you want and what you need. It is all really simple and clever - people are saved the hassle of looking for potentially good matches, and the way the whole system works means they will always be matched with these individuals that can provide them with what they need more professionally first.

Splize launched its alpha version in March 2011.

It was only a mater of time before a social network aggregation service hit the streets. Meet Banjo!
